The venue
Lake Galgenweel
Lake Galgenweel is a tiny but challenging lake, very close to the old city center of Antwerp. The lake offers very tactical racing. Courses are short and guarantee close racing that is easy to follow from the clubhouse. The start line is max. 5 minutes away from the bank and crews can come ashore in between races as there are plenty of jetties.

Michiel Gysel
Certified Pilates Instructor
Michiel teaches private and group lessons Pilates according to the only true method, developed by Joe Pilates.
All sports have their own movement patterns and repeated use of these movement patterns can lead to major muscle differences. As a result of these patterns some muscle groups become weak and inefficient. The more dominant muscles begin to bulk up and become short and tight. Pilates focuses on the body as a whole, concentrating on a big variety of muscles which results into a balanced body.
Pilates is especially effective in building core stability, something we need a lot as a sailor.
Often the less relevant muscles are totally inactive and even unknown. Pilates exercises and activates the deeper lying muscles and other muscle parts to increase overall performance.
Michiel will teach us how to do movements more effective and will bring some balance and strength after the second racing day.
We look very much forward to this class. How about you?
Don’t forget to register here and bring your sportswear!
